Wallingford Sunset, 2022, gouache, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 8'' x 11'' - really fun commission, a variation on an earlier dreamy grocery store inspired piece

Cats of Wallingford 2: Jazzy, 2022, watercolor, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 5.5'' x 6''

Columbia River Study II, 2023, mixed media, 5'' x 10''

Cats of Wallingford 1: Rocket, 2021, watercolor on paper, 6'' x 8''

our new home, 2021, colored pencil and marker on paper, 5'' x 6'' - this space now serves as both my new home and new studio! It is small and cozy and feels like a treehouse and I'm in love with it.

Dick's Drive-In, 2021, gouache, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5'' x 7.5'' - A beloved Seattle icon, my dad ate here every day of his high school life, which I believe means I am at least somewhat composed of the Dick's Deluxe/Fries/Chocolate Shake combo. That's how genetics works, right?

XC Ski Trip, 2022, watercolor, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 7'' x 10'' - Crisp evergreens and wood fires blow in a slightly cracked window as we descend into Washington's Methow Valley...freshly groomed corduroy trails here we come!!

Cassidy, 2022, mixed media

Festive Commute, 2021, watercolor, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 5'' x 7'' - Maybe this is just me but you know the feeling when you first move from a smaller town to a major city and you're like "my life is basically a movie now?" That's how I feel any time I drive to work, thanks to this view.

Sodo Sunset, 2022, mixed media

Wallingford Sign, 2020, gouache on paper, 5'' x 8'' - Neon sign pairing perfectly with the potted plant display at a local QFC. Prepare for a dreamy grocery-shopping experience…

40th and Sunnyside, 2019, gouache on paper, 5'' x 7.5'' - If you look down toward Lake Union from Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood at night, the Emerald City positively glitters.
Pandemic Skyline, 2020, gouache on paper, 5'' x 7.5'' - This heart has brightened the Seattle skyline since the pandemic struck, reminding us all that we are not alone in this.
Secret Garden, 2020, watercolor, marker, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 5'' x 7'' - Profound subject matter here - this is my bathroom! The house I rent in Seattle was built around 1910 and has built up a lot of character over the last hundred years. This is probably my favorite room in the place!

Garden of the Gods, 2019, gouache on paper, 5'' x 8'' - Inspired by a 2019 trip to Colorado Springs, where I was constantly in awe of the contrast between blindingly blue sky and rich red-orange earth.
I-90 Study, 2020, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5.25'' x 6.75'' - If you have ever driven east on Snoqualmie Pass in January, you may recognize this striking bend in the road right before the summit. I love the way the almost gray-scale scenery makes road signs and taillights pop!
Wallingford View, 2019, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5'' x 8'' - I count myself lucky that this is the view from my little studio - this was the first piece I made upon arriving in Seattle a year ago now.
Haze, 2020, watercolor, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 5'' x 7'' - On the morning of the day I painted this, I woke up to a sepia-toned world and felt like Dorothy at the end of Wizard of Oz - smoke from west coast forest fires has rendered the Emerald City an eerily lit, unbreathable mess.

Spooky Décor 2021, gouache on paper, 6.75'' x 7.5'', 2021 - The annual Halloween commemoration piece, this time featuring Lake cats past and present. Ghost Tugger, meet Halloweenie and Derek Acorah!
Spooky Decor, 2020, gouache on paper, 5'' x 5'' - My Halloween décor tops my Christmas décor every time, and you better believe it stays up till December 1.
Spooky Fam, 2018, gouache on paper, 5'' x 6''

Palouse Texture Study, 2018, collage and acrylic on canvas, 8'' x 10'' - This piece came together in a creative frenzy around 2 a.m. on a work night circa 2018. It was the first time I’d ever incorporated collage into my work and I couldn’t have been more surprised with how well it turned out. Note the tulle skirts doubling as clouds and sagebrush!

Artichoke Landscape, 2018, collage and acrylic on canvas, 8'' x 10'' - This piece just didn’t feel complete until I found the perfect little cluster of artichokes to add into the foreground. The owner of the original encountered it at an art walk, burst out laughing upon noticing the sneaky artichokes, and bought it on the spot. Probably one of the proudest moments of my life to be honest.
Glassy River, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5'' x 7'' - Muted browns, tans, pale pinks and delicate blues are some of the most distinctly eastern Washington colors I know.
Rabbit Brush in Bloom, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5'' x 6.5'' - Nothing brightens up the Autumnal shrub steppe like rabbit brush. While most of its companions have gone to seed by late summer, it waits until the surroundings are beginning to grow drab before revealing its delightfully sunny blooms, brightening up the landscape one more time before fall begins in earnest.
Last One in the Parking Lot, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 4'' x 6.5'' - There’s always something a little wistful and possibly even surreal about being the last soul in the work parking lot. Especially when you’ve got a languid late summer sunset to set the mood.
Phlox in Bloom, 2019, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5.5'' x 7.75'' - Springtime in the Shrub Steppe is characterized by deep periwinkle skies setting off newly sprouted greens, goldenrods and lavenders. This piece is a little ode to that wonderful fresh smell of post-rain-shower soil and blooming wildflowers.
Rattlesnake from University Ave, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 4'' x 6.5'' - An extremely familiar prospect to anyone commuting into the Tri-Cities research district for work or school. I admired this view nearly every night for five years while attending Washington State University Tri-Cities, then working at Pacific Northwest National Lab and Bechtel.
Drab Office/Dramatic Sky, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 6'' x 8'' - A piece from my days spent in a cubicle with a color palette known only as Office Space. I'd take so many walks around the building during the workday to escape the beige. The insane beauty of the outside world looked even more spectacular by comparison.
Columbia River Sunset, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 5.5 '' x 8'' - The best part of summer in the Tri-Cities may be the spectacular sunsets, and their beauty is only magnified when viewed from a kayak on the Columbia River.

Badger Canyon Study 1, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 3.3'' x 6.5'' - A quick attempt to capture that magical purple glow that blankets the Columbia Basin shorty after sunset. This took all of fifteen minutes but I ended up really liking its loose, expressive quality.
Badger Canyon Study 2, 2018, acrylic on paper, 5.5'' x 8.5'' - The rolling hills and enormous skies of the Columbia Basin never cease to amaze.

Snowy Vineyard, 2018, watercolor and colored pencil on paper, 4.5'' x 6.5'' - It doesn’t snow every winter in the Columbia Basin, but when it does, our rolling vineyards and massive skyscapes are rendered even more stunning than usual.

Notre Dame in Flames, 2019, goauche on paper, 5.25'' x 8'' - Like so many others around the world, I found myself feeling helpless and devastated the day Notre Dame burned, watching from across the world as the incredible cultural centerpiece and work of art went up in flames. I didn’t know what to do with myself that night besides paint this piece.
Liminal Space Study, 2019, watercolor, colored pencil and graphite on paper, 5 x 8
