I am a painter based in Seattle, Washington. Originally hailing from the Columbia Basin with its rolling hills and enormous sky, I now enjoy exploring the innumerable fascinating nooks and crannies the city has to offer. When I’m not painting, you can catch me rock climbing with my partner Taylor, making coffee for all of Cornish College of the Arts where I work as a barista, or playing with my two kittens, Halloweenie and Lyra.
I paint my surroundings, my loved ones, and the worlds we make and inhabit. Much of my work centers around quiet moments of beauty to be found in everyday life. As the pace of life increases and we collectively become less and less connected to the physical world, I believe slowing down enough to experience those moments has possibly never been more important. My painting practice serves as an antidote to the anxious state of mind too much screen time always induces. A seemingly never-ending stream of contextless information is replaced with the relieving clarity that comes from intensely focusing on a single beautiful, tangible image.
